Creating livelihoods, cultivating confidence
At HAND, our livelihood development programs are designed to create sustainable income opportunities and foster long-term financial independence among women and youth in rural communities. Our approach focuses not only on technical training but also on building leadership, financial literacy, and digital readiness - ensuring that beneficiaries are self-reliant, skilled for the future, and resilient to socio-economic challenges.
By equipping participants with practical skills in areas such as tailoring, handicrafts, digital media training, and micro-enterprise development, we help them confidently step into the workforce or start their own income-generating ventures.

Our Vistaraku Making Training program supports rural women in gaining practical skills to produce eco-friendly leaf plates—locally known as Vistaraku.
Our Vistaraku Making Training program supports rural women in gaining practical skills to produce eco-friendly leaf plates—locally known as Vistaraku—that are widely used for traditional functions, events, and sustainable food packaging. Through hands-on workshops, we train women in leaf collection, cleaning, processing, stitching, and plate finishing, ensuring high-quality and market-ready products. This sustainable livelihood initiative helps women earn a stable income from resources available within their own communities, reducing dependency on single-use plastics and supporting environmental conservation. By creating a green income source, we build confidence, enhance economic resilience, and promote the use of biodegradable products that align with India’s growing demand for eco-conscious alternatives. At HAND, we ensure continuous support through market linkages, micro-enterprise guidance, and collective production models, helping women establish small-scale, home-based businesses. This initiative not only advances women’s empowerment but also contributes to a cleaner ecosystem and stronger local economies. When women thrive through eco-friendly enterprises, nature and communities grow together.
